Hey ya’ll! My name is Tori Yaussy. Nice to meet you!  I am a 30-year-old professional flutist living and working in the Houston area. I play, teach, and talk about music every day as my job! I started The Unclassical Musician podcast as a pandemic project because I saw a need for support in my community of like-minded musicians cobbling together a career in classical music.

 

Despite our struggles as musicians, I want to encourage us all to think for ourselves. Here’s a friendly reminder that you are a human first, and a musician second! Let’s think about what you actually want out of your career– not what your teachers or parents told you to strive for.
